ASME Charles J. Wilson Fastener Travel Grant

The Charles J. Wilson Fastener Travel Grant is open to Masters and Ph.D. graduate students helping to advance the study of fasteners by presenting an accepted paper at a technical society conference.

Travel Grant Eligibility & Stipend:
  • Technical Conferences held within the United States as well as internationally.
  • Students must be studying at a US or Canadian University.
  • A stipend of $1,250 is available semi-annually. The two available timeframes are January - June and July - December. The stipend will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • If no applicant is selected in a six (6) month timeframe, two (2) applicants can be considered in the subsequent timeframe if the fund balance permits.
  • Applicants will receive a certificate when travel grant funding is awarded
Applicants must submit:
  • A cover letter
  • Proof of applicant’s paper was accepted for presentation at the conferencec (e.g., acceptance letter or email)
  • A personal statement (1-2-page statement about the applicant’s career goals/plans and expected outcomes of attending the conference); The personal statement will be shared with the donor
Applications will be reviewed and approved by the Committee on Engineering Education.
