Special Issue on Maritime Transport

Maritime transport is an important industry that is responsible for the carriage of approximately 90% of the total volume of world trade. It also includes the transport of people, offshore service vessels, and naval ships. The maritime industry is currently experiencing significant changes, influenced by both regulatory and technological developments. Some important current trends in maritime transportation are related to digitalization, decarbonization, and automation.
This special issue addresses all engineering challenges related to maritime transport, as well as other technical, economical, regulatory, and societal issues relevant for shipping. Scientists, engineers, and policy-makers are invited to contribute with original research papers or reviews on all aspects of maritime transportation. In particular, participants of the DNV NMU 2024 workshop are encouraged to submit their research to this special issue.

Papers should be submitted electronically to the journal through the ASME Journal Tool. If you already have an account, log in as an author and select Submit Paper. If you do not have an account, you can create one here.Once at the Paper Submittal page, select the Journal of Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering, and then under the Special Issue field, select Special Issue on Maritime Transport.
Papers received after the deadline or papers not selected for the Special Issue may be accepted for publication in a regular issue.
