In this geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) course, you will learn the skills needed to interpret engineering designs and help troubleshoot mistakes that occur during the manufacturing process. The common language known as GD&T can help facilitate communication amongst key team members responsible for the production of a part. GD&T is an essential tool for communicating design intent – how the parts from technical drawings have the desired form, fit, function, and interchangeability.

This On Demand course features video-based sessions and real-world examples taught by ASME’s expert Instructor. This course features several case studies, based on industry standards, with example calculations and interactive quizzes.

By participating in this course, you will learn how to successfully:

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the fundamental geometric concepts
  • Identify the application of geometric symbols on drawings
  • Explain how to interpret the datum reference frames properly
  • Apply position and profile tolerances to a drawing and explain how to measure

Course Materials (included in the purchase of the course)

  • Interactive quizzes
  • An e-copy of the 400-page GeoTol Pro 2020 book by Scott Neumann and Al Neumann, which contains full color graphics and loaded with student exercises. (Access for the duration of the course)

Who should attend?
Designers, approver/decision makers, and anyone who need to read and/or interpret engineering drawings and their intent. Personnel involved in engineering, designing, drafting, quality control, procurement, tooling, production, purchasing, manufacturing, and CAD inspection.

Course participants are expected to have:

  • Access to computer equipment and a reliable internet connection
  • Software to display PDF files (such as Adobe Reader)
